Fall of Phaeton
FALL OF PHAETON fragrance, a captivating addition to the Argos Fragrances Artist Series, draws inspiration from the dramatic and dynamic style of Flemish Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens. Known for his emphasis on movement, color, and sensuality, Rubens' influence is intricately woven into this aromatic creation.
When Phaeton, the son of Helios, stepped into the sun god's chariot, he lost control. The horses, driven wild, scorched and froze the earth. Zeus responded by striking Phaeton with a devastating thunderbolt. Rubens depicts Phaeton cast down from Helios' golden chariot, his hair on fire, mirroring a blazing earth, surrounded by terrified horses and deities of the seasons responsible for the laws and order of time.
This bold fragrance pays homage to the tragedy of Phaeton, who, although he greatly failed, more greatly he dared. Opening with Lightning Bursts of Bergamot and Lemon, Spicy Cardamom, Pink Peppercorn and Ginger, Argos FALL OF PHAETON transitions into its Smoldering heart notes of Labdanum, Lavender, and Agarwood. Base notes of Rich Musk, Animalic Leather, Sweet Tonka Bean, and Vanilla bring this provocative and chaotic event to life.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Spicy Cardamom, Pink Peppercorn and Ginger
Middle Notes: Labdanum, Lavender, and Agarwood
Base Notes: Rich Musk, Animalic Leather, Sweet Tonka Bean, and Vanilla
