David Benedek is the Parisian founder and driving creative behind BDK Parfums, a contemporary niche fragrance house he launched in 2016 to reinvent classic French perfumery for the modern world. Born in Paris in 1989 into a family steeped in fragrance history, David grew up surrounded by scent: his grandparents were among the first to distribute luxury brands like Dior and Worth in the French capital’s iconic perfume district, and his parents continued the family’s perfumery legacy in their Parisian boutique.

After studying economics and living abroad in Beijing and New York, David returned to France and followed his passion by specializing in fragrance and cosmetics at the Institut Français de la Mode. He then deepened his expertise in raw materials and olfactory craft through training at the Cinquième Sens Institute, sharpening the skills that would become the foundation of his perfume house.

David’s creative approach blends artistic sensibility with technical rigor — he often speaks about perfume like a language or tactile palette, drawing on texture, color, and emotion as much as on classic fragrance structure. Under his leadership, BDK Parfums has grown into a global niche favorite, known for collections like Parisienne, Matières, Azur, and Exclusive, all crafted in collaboration with master perfumers while guided by David’s vision of storytelling through scent.
