Amouage

Founded in 1983 in Muscat, Oman, Amouage was created at the request of Sultan Qaboos to restore the region’s historic legacy of luxury perfumery. The house was established by Prince Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi and quickly became known as “The Gift of Kings,” a symbol of Omani culture, artistry, and refinement.

Rooted in the traditions of the Middle East, Amouage is renowned for its use of rare and precious ingredients such as frankincense, myrrh, oud, and rose—materials deeply tied to Oman’s heritage. These are blended with French perfumery techniques to create fragrances that are both timeless and avant-garde, often known for their richness, projection, and complexity.

Today, Amouage operates as part of the SABCO Group through Oman Perfumery LLC and has grown into one of the most respected names in global niche fragrance. With creative leadership evolving over the years—most recently under Renaud Salmon—the house continues to balance heritage with modern innovation, crafting perfumes that feel both regal and contemporary.
