Zoologist

Founded in 2013 in Toronto by Victor Wong, Zoologist Perfumes began as a passion project rooted in curiosity, creativity, and a love of storytelling through scent.

What sets Zoologist apart is its concept: each fragrance is inspired by an animal—not just its scent, but its entire existence. From the damp forests of a beaver’s habitat to the nocturnal mystery of a bat or the delicate grace of a hummingbird, every perfume is designed to capture the essence of a creature’s world.

Rather than relying on a single in-house perfumer, Wong collaborates with award-winning perfumers from around the world, giving each artist the freedom to interpret an animal in their own unique way. This results in a collection that is wildly diverse—sometimes beautiful, sometimes strange, sometimes challenging—but always memorable.

Importantly, despite its animal inspirations, Zoologist is committed to ethical practices: no animal-derived musks are used, relying instead on synthetic alternatives so that no animals are harmed in the creation of the fragrances.

At its core, Zoologist is not about smelling “nice”—it’s about experiencing something. Each bottle is a story, a habitat, a personality… something you step into the moment you spray it.
