Born in Barcelona in 1951, Ramon Monegal grew up surrounded by the art of perfumery as a fourth-generation member of the family that founded Myrurgia, one of Spain's most celebrated fragrance houses. He began his professional training in 1972, studying alongside renowned perfumers in Geneva, Paris, and Grasse before returning to Spain to continue the family tradition. His career would eventually span decades of fragrance creation, establishing him as one of the most respected figures in Spanish perfumery.
In 2009, Ramon established his own independent fragrance house, giving himself the creative freedom to express his personal vision without the limitations of commercial perfumery. Deeply influenced by literature, architecture, music, and the Mediterranean landscape, he approaches each fragrance as a story waiting to be told. His distinctive bottles, inspired by traditional inkwells, reflect his belief that perfume is a language and that the perfumer is an author who writes with scent rather than words.
Today, Ramon Monegal continues to create fragrances that balance classical craftsmanship with artistic experimentation. Creations such as La Isla Blanca, Flamenco, Impossible Iris, and Mon Patchouly demonstrate his ability to transform places, emotions, and memories into sophisticated olfactory compositions. At its heart, the house represents the continuation of an extraordinary family legacy, guided by a perfumer whose lifelong devotion to fragrance has become an art form entirely his own.
