D'Or Factory

Founded in London by Romanian perfumer Alina Miron, Dor Olfactory takes its name from the Romanian word “dor,” an emotion without a precise English translation that describes an intense feeling of longing or yearning for a person, place, experience, or even something that has yet to happen. That sense of longing sits at the heart of the house, with fragrance treated as a way of giving physical form to memories, emotions, and lived experiences.

Alina develops the fragrances while working alongside a collective of designers, architects, researchers, artists, and makers who explore scent from different perspectives. Rather than limiting itself to traditional perfumery, Dor moves between fragrance, art, technology, exhibitions, workshops, and immersive sensory experiences, considering not only how something smells, but how it feels, looks, and changes the way we perceive a space or moment.

Everything is produced in small quantities in Dor's North London studio, using high concentrations of natural materials and what the house describes as slow perfumery. Fragrances such as Figure Me Out, Legno Sacro, Date with a Shaman, You See Me Too, and Wabi-Sabi reflect Alina's intimate, experiential style of composition. The result is perfumery that feels personal and tactile, created not simply to smell beautiful, but to make you feel, remember, question, and explore.
