Helena’s, a private membership-only nightclub, opened on the corner of LA’s Rampart Boulevard and West Temple Street in 1985. It was founded by the actress and belly dancer Helena Kallianiotes. With the strictest of no-photo policies, LA glamour could meet unrestrained debauchery. Stars like Marlon Brando, Madonna, Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep and Prince were all members and found refuge there. By 1991 its doors closed, but the stories of its undocumented nights live on.
